As a child, I loved Emily Rodda’s strange and wonderful children’s fantasy series Deltora Quest. For fun, I started adapting the series into a homebrew campaign for 5e, loosely following the story of the original eight books.
Note: This is fan work, and not officially affiliated with Emily Rodda!
This page collects links for the modules completed so far. My aim is to eventually finish one overarching campaign that can be run from Level 4-12. Each adventure can still act as its own story, easy to slot characters in and out of, while maintaining the core quest to restore the magic belt. Although the story borrows the main quest and plot hook, be forewarned that much of the world itself has been greatly changed or expanded on in order to create a fuller setting for players to explore.
Right now, I’ve completed three chapters (A Prologue in Del, Forests of Silence, and Lake of Tears) with a fourth (City of the Rats) hopefully finishing up later this year. All my modules are free to download below, and I’ll continue to update existing ones with any new changes:
- Del (v2)
- Forests of Silence (v2)
- Lake of Tears (v1)
- City of the Rats (coming 2025)
Apart from the adventures, you will also find: nine custom species variants, 20 custom maps, and 40+ custom statblocks for monsters and NPCs from the world of Deltora. I highly value any feedback! This is my first time homebrewing something this complex, so occasional tweaks and rewrites may appear in later versions.
